Apopka Area Student Band Fee Fundraiser
Music to My Mind is raising funds to help Apopka area teens that want to join a high school band, but can't afford the fees associated with Apopka High School and Wekiva High School's band programs. As a non-profit charity with years of experience working with area schools, we are accustomed with the Orange County School's process for handling donations. We are liaising with the appropriate county employees to make sure that all money is securely in place for the students' benefit.
Wait! High School Students Have To Pay To Be In Band?
Yes, all band programs in OCPS require students to pay a fee to be in the program. This fee pays for music, travel, equipment repair, competition entrance fees, supplies, etc. Rates range from $250 to over $500 per student per year within the County. In the Apopka area, our high schools have kept fees down, but it is still daunting for many families to pay on top of fees for lessons and accessories. Music to My Mind is working with both Apopka High School and Wekiva High School to fundraise within the local community to help the programs cover the fees of their most in need students. You can help pay a little or all of a student's fee. Whatever you can provide will help another student stay in band.
How Can You Help With Other Programs?
Music to My Mind contacts our donors periodically with other opportunities to help the community. Please feel free to look through our site and see how you can help bring the magic of music to more communities.
